Shadow of Mordor is an open world game set in the vast and treacherous landscape of Middle-earth. Partake in the excellent combat system, explore your way through all that Mordor has to offer, interact with other characters on your journey, and take control of your own destiny as you experience both sides of the story with this highly-anticipated title. The game is out on October 3rd for Xbox One consoles and Windows/Steam PC's. The PS4 release date is still to be determined by Sony. The game was also featured in the next-generation console trailer of Microsoft's E3 2013 press conference.The game did not sell particularly well, taking 13th place on the UK charts. According to VGChartz, Shadow of Mordor's sales are currently at 362,000 copies sold in October 2015. Prior to release, Monolith Productions promised that all purchasers of the game would have downloadable content associated with it. The first piece of DLC was called Flame of Anor, which followed the story of Baranor while expanding upon Shelob's backstory and while adding a new area to explore after she killed Saruman. The second piece of DLC was called Lord of the Hunt, which follows the story of Torvin by helping him discover or craft new artifacts for use against Sauron's forces. The third and final piece of DLC is called The Bright Lord. It stars Celebrimbor, the Elf lord who forged the rings at the heart of Middle-earth's story, and expands upon his relationship with Galadriel. The Bright Lord was released on July 28th 2016. On June 14th 2015, Monolith Productions announced that a standalone game mode titled "Siege" would be added to Shadow of Mordor at no extra cost. The mode allows players to play as Sauron's forces, challenging up to seven other players in team-based gameplay. The mode was released on June 30th 2015 for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The DLC is free if the game is played on Steam. Shadow of Mordor features a "Photo Mode", which allows players to take pictures of the game world. This feature has been described as being similar to those found in The Last of Us and Grand Theft Auto V. The game also supports an "Easy Mode" and a "Test of Power Challenge Mode". The game was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction at the 17th D.I.C.E. Awards, and won Outstanding Character Performance (Talion) and Outstanding Achievement in Animation at the 2015 DICE Awards. eccc085e13
